Saw some birds, seemed like resident birds though. Only got one in gun range, but had four circling behind him so didn't taie the shot.

One bird in the decoys is worth 20 in the sky. Which river?

I'll pass on one if I've got four others circling and working everytime. The single was in range but wouldve been a passing shot, he was just flying by not decoying

I have passed on a single many times for birds that acted like they were going to commit. It's just the chance you take. More power to you if you don't want to shoot a passing bird. There is just something about killing them with there feet down and wings cupped that is a little more rewarding.

I will take them too on passing shots, but that is me too. They will be in the decoys, just belly up v. feet down. Better luck next time

We pass up a lot of singles in hope of big groups finishing. Sometime it bites us and sometime the group commits after they see that single commit.

Never pass, a bird in hand is worth two in the bush (or water)
