Question about a duck

Postby QuackAddict95 » Mon Dec 31, 2012 10:24 pm

My friend shot a mallard and it didnt look normal. It has some brown/gray on its head and alot of brown on its body especially on the bottom. I was just wondering if its some type of mutation in the duck or what

From your limited description I would say either a hen mallard or a hen pintail. If a better description or picture could be posted maybe we could help further.

Does it have webbed feet and a bill? It sounds like a duck. If you have a picture, that'll help ID it.
There are no ducks in the desert!

If it sounds like a duck, and it looks like a duck, that doesn't mean it's a duck. I vote for a hen Pheasant.
