Finally got my dog on some wild ducks

Postby skelso98 » Mon Jan 14, 2013 12:58 pm

I do all my training with ducks, either frozen birds picked up after a hunt test, or live birds used for live flyers so my dog is no stranger to picking up birds. However, during dove season she seemed a bit confused about where the birds were coming from (I assume since everything she has seen thus far came from a blind (live or dead). Most or my buddy's I hunt with have their own dogs so mine stays home when I hunt with them. This past weekend one of my buddy's invited me to hunt a private lake and offered to leave one of his dogs home so I could work my dog from the second blind. It didn't take long for her to figure out birds come from the sky.

We ended the day with 31 ducks. (Cheyenne's the dog on the right)
