Got my wigeon back

Postby Omaha Clucker » Thu Jan 24, 2013 8:37 am

Its not exactly how I was picturing it would be done but I'm still happy with it. There was a couple broken primaries on the right wing and he did a good job of hiding that. Forgot to get a pic from the front but he's standing in the water on the base

I just think it was more my problem than his. I took him a reference pic of how I wanted it because I didn't think it was too common of a pose to have a duck standing and stretching, problem being I couldn't find a pic of a wigeon like that so I took in a pic of a redhead. I knew that a diver's feet are farther back on the body and able to stand taller and get the wings angled more to the front than out, but I just overlooked it. Sure he could have called and said he wasn't going to be able to do exactly what I'd asked of him but I would have told him to do what he thought looked best without making it just a standing/sitting mount and that's what he did in the end anyway.
