I live in NE texas. Im wondering what i should plant in one of my flooded areas. The water dries up during the summer. ive been looking at millet,smartweed,sorghum. Does anyone have any experience for what grows best in my area?

I planted Japanese Millet for the first time this year in East Tx and it did great. Planted it in stages from July through September. Smartweed is growing naturally on most of the spots I hunt around here.
