I made rag/windsock type decoys out of white trash bags back in the 80's, and they worked alright. Lots of people told me the bags shine, so I switched to Texas rags, and made windsocks out of them. They seem to work fine for me, but they can be a pain when it gets real windy or wet - as do all sock/rags. I think that unless you have a source of real cheap white plastic bags, the Texas Rags are more economical.

i made 58 shadows out of 2 sheets of thin plywood. stacked them up and cut them both at once with a jigsaw. little hint. paint all sides of the plywood before you cut. makes it 10 times faster. ripped my stakes out of treated 1x6. 18" long. pretty cheap to add numbers. had the paint already.
