Pond Dye

Postby D Comeaux » Sun Feb 17, 2013 8:25 pm

I've been struggling with aquatic vegitation in my ponds for years and i'm not a big fan of poisons, so I did some reaserch on pond dyes. I applied my first round of dye today and the Idea is to reduce or eleminate sun penetration. I was wonderig if anyone has used this method for vegitation control and if so what was your results?

We use Mrs. Stewart's hair bluing in all of our ponds. It is completely safe for all livestock or wildlife and will not hurt the fish. We also put it in the water troughs that our horses drink out of. It's cheap and you can get it at the grocery store or hair place. Hope this helps you out.
