Rice field spread help

Postby feather_duster40 » Thu Feb 21, 2013 9:07 am

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone could give me some guidance on a decoy spread for a flooded rice field. I know there are no guaranteed successful spreads. But I have never hunted rice and don't really know where to start. It's a pit blind on the west side of a levee that runs north and south. The west side of the pit has 40 acres of flooded rice and the east side has 80 acres of flooded rice. I have both fields so I need a spread that will be capable of shooting out of either side. I'm looking for any information as far as numbers and layout. Thank you for your help.

Id load it up with GHG Life Size mallards. 10 dozen at least and then gadwall, pintail, &widegon decoys. Put fullbodies on the shore.
