You mean you can't sell fake ducks?

If the mount is properly labeled and tagged it is legal

The real question is if its still legally a duck? Sure it has feathers, a bill some fake eyes but it doesn't have a heart, blood or anything else. So essentially it would be like selling feathers right? Either way not sure if anybody is gonna have to worry about it, looks like crap.

Per the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and Florida Administrative Code 68A.004, the sale of any migratory game bird, it's carcass, or its feathers is illegal unless you have a taxidermy license with the proper record keeping

So could you sell the drift wood and "gift" the mount? Or is than not a loop hole because they are basically inseprable?

What Mitchell said. The feathers got him on this one, the guy can thank the plume
Trade for that .selling cardinal feathers you found on the ground, illegal. Mbta and Lacey act have prohibited commerce in dead wildlife and their parts since the early 1900's. feathers, eggs, doesn't matter. Actually thre wAs a thread in the honey hole a little ways back some guy tried to sell a mount on clist and the dnr officer showed up on his front door step to buy it And he was looking at criminal charges. He had no idea of course and I guess he was gonna fight it. Never read up on what became of that, it's easy to search though. For what I understand you could be looking at a misdemeanor some fines and maybe some jail time if the circumstances were severe enough. Best best, gift mounts! Lol

HAHA. I know the story behind the ad ya'll are talking about. Been sitting in an office for about 8 years and the girls in the office were tired of looking at it (as you might imagine due how bad it looked) and just figured they would make some lunch money. I wouldn't expect them to know any better so I'd say it's pretty harmless fellas.

Hope so. Wouldn't be harmless if charges were filed. You might want to contact the seller and educate them on federal law.

Just tell him to advertise it as a $150 piece of metal for sale crammed up a free ducks ***. Or he could join an Indian tribe....
