Its gotta warm up!! Normally mid april crappie start hitting but its been cold late this year Im sure water temp is WAY down right now from where it normally is!

The old wives tale was when the dog woods and red buds started to bloom it was time to fish for crappie We dont even have easter lillys right now

THAT DEPENDS  are you talking about catching crappie or catching spawning crappie? They are flat hammering them right now, spiderrigging along the channel edges of the creeks. Check out crappie.com and look at the missouri forum. If you're talking about spawning crappie then yes, late april to mid may.

I was talking spawning crappie. I don't have a clue what spiderrigging even means.

You can come out with me to a private lake and ponds by my house. We catch tons of em. We don't catch big ones, but we catch a lot.

Fish are as big and hungry right now as they'll be any other time of the year, if you can find them.
