I know this has probably been asked before, but I cant find the answer online or on a search here in DGC.

I just received my first mount back from the taxidermist, and want to know if keeping it in my living room, which is attached to my kitchen, would damage the mount do to cooking smoke. It is a beautiful mount that I would like to display, but I would rather keep it safe.

id suggest puttin it in a display case if it will fit. but i have a great big open fireplace with several mounts above it that have ben there for a few years, they still look the same. dont seem to have been damaged at all from the smoke. the gets dustys quicker because of the smoke dust . but thats take care off with a feather duster, or one of those brushes a hairdresser uses to clean your neck off when there done
