Just finished this bufflehead yesterday has a few issues that I would have like to fix, but to late some things to work on next time.

The photo needs to be closer to the bird to get a good look! What I can see looks good and I must agree on the base, looks good! But I am looking at it from my iPhone ! You mentioned the wings, from this photo I cannot say if they are too far back or not? But something does look off?

Thanks for the input guys ! I know the wings are to far back, I put the wings up a little to find the bird some dimension so it didn't look like a feathered football.

not tryng to be rude but why would you not want the bird to look like like it should ?the idea behind it is to make the bird look as real as possible not " give it some dimension " jmo

Understandable but have you ever seen a duck ruffle its feathers ? They are not always in the same position just standing there right ?
