SX3 Broken Magazine Tube

Postby pr54 » Sun Apr 28, 2013 8:34 pm

Has anyone heard of this before?? SX3 is only 3 years old with minimal use duck and goose hunting. The part of the magazine tube where the brass ring is located failed and has a chunk of the magazine tube missing. The gun still shoots fine as a single shot but it won't eject shells due to all of the gases coming out before the gas piston.

Any ideas what could have caused this? I have to think it is a factory defect and they should cover it, but i doubt i will be that lucky.

Do you have an actual hole in the magazine tube? If so they are easily replaced but I would contact Winchester and get them to warranty it.

There is an actual hole in the magazine tube. The power/gas piston looks good

am sure winchester would like to inspect that, they should be on that like white on rice. arrange for them to warranty the gun.

a mix of hevi-metal and kent faststeel last year, and shot two boxes of hyper sonic this year.

I bet the gun doesnt have a total of a case of shells through it.

My question is "WHY" do you have to shoot that kind of Ammo. It's not realy needed to harvest ducks. IMHO.

Shooting a shell like a HYPERSONIC in a gun with aluminum parts is a terrible idea. You will batter the lightweight parts.
