Calls

Postby chasing the GREEN » Mon May 06, 2013 11:32 am

Im sure this post is somewhere on here from before, didn't feel like searching through for it.

Just curious what you guys have been blowing, what you like ect..

I used to blow exclusively RNT for my ducks and my go to for goose was always my foiles straight meat honker. I recently picked up some DRC calls though that so far I love. I got the REV and the Life Sentence in the Delrin material. I have never seen that stuff before this call, do any other companies use it? It kinda softens the sound a bit, but I think it sounds great and is a good compliment to my SMH. My RNTs include Original Acrylic, Short Barrel and the Timbre Hawg in Cocabola. Love them all for diff situations but I think the Timbre Hawg is my favorite of the RNTs. The REV has a little bit of the no stick grooves on the tone board, not as aggressive as the Echo one though. So far I have yet to get it to stick, but I also have yet to use it out in the cold weather so we will see.

I'm starting to hate myself for being "that guy" who has a million calls on his neck because I've got a primos whistle, a buck garner wood duck call, rnt microhen which I love but it isn't loud so I picked up a buck garner double shot (? It's basically just a loud duck call). For goose calls it's a C&S Apostle die hard (so molded like derelin but I'm not sure what material he uses) and it's up for debate right now what my other goose call is going to be between a DRC slipknot, GK Canuck, or a Winglock longneck(?).

So there's 6 calls. It disgusts me, but I don't feel I've found a good all around duck call or goose call to bring it back down to 4 which I feel would be more than sufficient (whistle, Woodie, mallard, goose)

Duck Calls are Cocobaloa RNT Daisycutter, Primos Woodduck and ofcourse the buck gander whistle
Goose Calls are C&S Disciple (which I love) and a quack head snow goose call cuz I am dead set on killing a snow over water and in recent years have seen a few flocks in the area during the regular season.
