I work for our local golf course and am a member out there. It's on the edge of city limits and has 3 ponds I'm considering asking the groundskeeper who I know pretty well if he would mind if I put out the boxes. My question is, will the traffic from golfers all day discourage wood ducks from wanting to nest there? It's not that busy of a golf course and the ponds are between holes so they only see traffic from the guys shanking the ball off the fairway (been there
). Think it'll work?

Alot of courses around here have them.
They usually are on the side of the pond with the least amount of disturbance.
A couple of them will have woodies that just swim/ jump over to the other side.
So ya its worth it. Just if you do put some up make sure they are taken care of. If not they may do more harm than good.
Good Luck and if you do put some up keep us updated over the next couple of years

Just make sure you use an effective predator guard or you'll just be feeding varmits & snakes with duck eggs and/or hens.
