Oh C'mon... Just wanting to hear something new.

I'm mentally ready for season to get here, however I canoed up to the Beaver Hut Blind and I'm not ready to go sit down in it yet. Snakes are thriving this year. Have brush to clear when the water goes down and at this points it's near the high mark. Need to do some planting, but if it stayed this high through season it would be alright with me. Two huge Swans with large blue collars are hanging out. Geese are paired up everywhere. And the woodies are buzzing up and down the swamp, with mosquitoes, as usual.

Lasts Year - 2012 Season
Teal - Sept 8-23
Duck - Nov 17-25, Dec 6-23, Dec 26-Jan 27th..

Probably be about the same?

Almost always opens the third Saturday in November, or at least it's been that way for the last 10 years or so. After that, it's anybody's guess.

Teal season's prolly gonna be about the same. I'm not sure i can ever go hunting for blue wings anywhere other than Byers Farm again. I fear that last year's slaughter may have ruined me forever.

I'm afraid this year could be a bust. The wet spring won't be aiding in our search for blue bombers cannon.

That's okay. If I'm gonna get skunked, I'd just as soon it be as your place as anywhere else. At least the quality of the company is top shelf. I've got a few aces up my sleeve, but I sincerely doubt that I'll have anything out of the field in time to catch water for the early birds as well. This one's been tough.

I will gaze into my crystal ball and tell your future...for a small fee of course.

This one is free:
Nov. 23-Dec 1
Dec 7-23
Dec 26- Jan. 28

60 days unless I counted wrong.

Thanksgiving is Nov. 28 this year.
The stuttgart duckfest kinda determines when first split happens unless I am terribly wrong.

The fed has to count the ducks first. That happens later this summer. Then they determine if we get 60 days.
We will.

I used an equation called a Homann transfer to determine these dates. (Rocket science) rofl
INTERNET CREDIBILITY is...an OXYMORON. :moon:

Well Betty what you say looks right, I'm just not sure our little festive has any real pull however. But I still need to check your math I mean the OP was (is) an aeronautical engineer ..........so his stuff must of been rocket science right?

it appears that the proposed opening date for early teal will be Sept 7. doesnt appear that nothing will change much from past years. Cannon, hope ya'll havent lost any crops as we have lost about 300 acres of rice to all the rains. we still have about 500 that will make and about 350 acres of beans thats look good, our corn also has managed to do well. so i think with a little good luck let the blue winged rockets from the north descend on Egypt and the games will begin.....

In some circles it is thought that the limit on early teal might go up and that the regular season possession limit might go to a 3 day limit. But who knows.

We got it all in, but I think it took at least 5 years off my life. This weather has been tough. I won't have anything ready for the early birds, but I'll be ready for the main event.

I'm not even sure I'll have sunflowers in time for the dove. Everything's late.

Glad to hear that you guys got most of it in. Good luck with em, bro.

The limit on teal will go up to 6 a day in the early season and the possession limit will be like you said. This is coming from a good source from AGFC.

Oh I'm getting excited - Wheat is harvested - Farmer planted Soil Beans including our Teal Hole, we planted Millet all around that. Doves are everywhere. Ready to pump some water.

We managed to get our sunflowers down in time. It will tough to match what we did with teal last year, with what this year has given us. I still hope to get in a jam up hunt or two, but the air show won't be quite as spectacular.

Jury's out on my flowers. If they make it, I'll prolly have to salt em to get em ready on time. Early teal wont even be a possibility around my place. I'm growing Roy J, and it'll come off 10-20 days behind the clearfield & hybrid varieties. I might get a bit of shooting in on a roost, but I sincerely doubt that there'll be a lot of blue rockets hanging around, given that everyone was so late getting their rice down.
