Here are some personal mounts I did for comp. this year. I wanted to do something different that I hadn't seen before so....

I was surprised last night at which of these was apparently the show favorite.

Of course I got the sneak peak a few months back, but I seriously love that stuff. That dead canvasback looks so good Brian....You nailed it!

The woodie hybrid looks hungrier than the aligator....almost a who's looking at who sort of thing?

I figured people would like the alligator scene best but I was sure wrong. The dead mount won Most Creative mount, Competitor's Choice -AND- People's Choice. I didn't even vote for it so what do I know....haha

I have to give "props" to a client thou. He asked me to do something original with his canvassback in a dead mount with a blind bag and that got my wheels spinning. I have a cool picture of my Euro wigeon laying on top of a blind bag so I kind of ran with it. Glad I did

I have a way to make wet looking "mud" that people are scared to touch because it looks like you would get your hands dirty :lol3: I actually used dirt to make that but usually yard mulch is my top choice. It stays looking wet but is hard as a rock. I felt bad "muddying" up a brand new blind bag but I have gotten over it.

It is a real stump I had laying around that needed to be used  That piece was more of a "lets see if I can do it" mount with the bouey/ice suspended up high to simulate the surface.

I had a picture on my cell that looks just like that Canvasback. I may have to request this for my next mount. Very original and neat idea! Thanks for sharing.

Love the can!!! Brought back great memories. A trophy bird always rides back to the dock on top of the blind bag. It's the place of honor in my boat!
