Here is my wigeon pair I was lucky enough to take last december here in NE Ohio. Pretty rare up here in an inland swamp.
Can anyone tell me if the spots on the drakes breast mean he is a young bird? He looked mature everywhere else and the hen is grade A prime. Anyways I always figured I would have to go somewhere else to get this pair but some days the Duck God smiles on us all.....

Tim does good work! Beautiful piece. Those breast feathers are normally juvenile feathers, but that doesn't mean they can't hit near full color…..which yours did.

Pete they made 7 passes before I shot. I could not figure out what I was looking at. I only had 2 mallards in the bag at that point. When I picked up the hen and saw what she was I almost ran across the water to the drake. I may kill a more mature one someday but never one that means more...plus his green mask was solid.
