Our blind

Postby Huntfish12 » Tue Jun 25, 2013 9:25 am

Since I had such a good time build and desiging this thing, i thought id share it with others to mabye help them out or give them an idea to go off of. I also didnt want to hyjack someone elses thread and clutter it all up... Its a very idiot proof design which is why it works so well for us. We pre assembled it in my garage, so when we took it out to the field it would be much simpler and easier to build. Its a simple 4x8 cube, per-say, with a half a roof. For the sides, we chose to go with lattice instead of a sheet of plywood because of the weight. We had to transport this thing about a mile up a creek with all out tools and junk, in a boat, with us riding on top of it all. It was interesting..Also the lattice i think gives a little deffinition and its easier to attach brush to, but durring the season it will be covered up anyway so its whatever. Other then that, it was just simple framing, and trying not to reinvent the wheel. keeping it simple was key. This was built for probibly a little over 200 bucks, but could be slimmed down now that we've done one. Hope ya'll enjoy, i sure did..Sorry pics a not in order.

this is the roof. I offset the framing from the edges some so it could be attached to the blind and still be strong and reduce the chance of sagging over the years. Also, i sprayed everything on both sides with Thompsons water sealer to try and reduce the chance of rot. dont know if it will work, only time will tell.
