Depends on condition, age is irrelevant

It is in great condition, I just don't know that much about shotguns. I know it is not Browning's " High End Shotgun" . The guy had mentioned trading for a deer rifle but I'm not real sure about a rifle for a shotgun. I guess it comes down to which gun you need the most. Retail on the Silver is higher than most of the common deer hunting rifles. I'm sure the quality of the gun will be satisfactory since it is a browning ybut it has been well taken care of.

You can find a new one for that or close to it.

Buds has both the Silver and Maxus for $1000-$1100, You can find a Winchester SX2, basically the same gun for $750 LNIB, SX3 for $900 NIB from Buds

It would be a pass for me

His price is high. A new SX3 is a better deal. A used SX 2 is a better deal and a bit heavier which you will appreciate if you plan to shoot many 3 1/2" shells. I have hunted with a SX 2 for many years. These are the same guns as the Silver with a different skin. You can find a used SX 2 for around $600.

If you're a Canadian, its not an unreasonable price but I've seen them brand new on sale for that price. I'll also encourage the sx3 or 2 suggestion .

I've bought 'em used less than a year old for $365. I have three that I bought new that I paid $800 or less for (granted, only one of 'em is a 3.5"). He's high on that price. Excellent weapon, though.
Smell that? Smells like sumthin died in here.
