Welcome aboard ducknut68!

If you've read the previous posts on the Alaska Chat you know we're a pretty relaxed bunch of duck hunters.

Where in our great state do you come from?

I live in Fairbanks, been here since 2000, I am in the US Army. I am currently deployed to Iraq.. Should be home soon though, thank goodness. I am married and have 5 kids. Will be staying in Alaska for at least 3 more years, approved by the Army. Originally from Illinois. Duck and Goose Hunting is all I know and I love it. I was the Chairman for the Fairbanks DU chapter before I came over here. I would like to get a Delta Waterfowl chapter staerted up there as well. Anyway thats a bit about me. I have missed the last two duck seasons due to being deployed over here so I am so looking forward to next season. Thanks for the welcome.

ducknut68,
I just hunted waterfowl in Delta for my first time this season. Found out that you really have to be there for the oppener. I was there on the 8th and the local birds were either shot up or very spooky. I want to hunt the opener there this coming season. Stay safe in Iraq. My son returned a short time ago from his second tour. Thanks for yours and your familys sacrafice for us.
