Dog Vet Recommendations? Seattle Area

Postby norcalhunter13 » Sun Aug 18, 2013 2:58 pm

Hey all,

I am looking for a good vet for my Labrador retriever. :help: I need to get some blood work done on her. I live close to Burien/West Seattle. I have looked online at reviews and it seems that quality of veterinary hospitals varies greatly, with horror stories to go with them. I don't want to go to an incompetent vet, nor one that will try to take ever dollar I ever made.

Any recommendations? Willing to drive if it is further away.

Thanks

Jon Brun at Northcreek Pet Hospital has been taking care of both my labs for 5 years. He owns the practice. He is a little pricey, but he has been practicing a long time and has earned my business. There are 2 other Vets close to me and I have tried them both. Of the 3... he is the best. Pretty new facility and there is at least one other veterinarian that works out of there as well so there is always a Dr. available.

Probably go with Shades advice, I'm on my 3rd vet, the past 2 where your typical house pet vets. Really didn't know anything about hunting dogs of any sort. The guy I'm, taking my pup to now is much better and informed, but not in the area you're looking for. The other problem I found was, they didn't speak English very well  which didn't really help.

We have a "Dog Active Protection" plan at Banfield Pet Hospital at Petsmart in Bellevue which has saved us a lot of money. The vet there is in tune with sporting dogs taboot. I like Dr. Thomlinson, she's really good with sporting dogs.

I have taken my lab to Lien Animal Clinic in West Seattle for 11 years. They have done right by me and my dog.

He's a bit of a hike but is really good and the rates are about average or maybe a little less. But the Sultan Veterinary Clinic (Dr. David Wendt) is really good. I've been going there for 14+ years now. He also has Labs so is partial to them. He knows how to handle the pet owners at well  And is a really nice guy.
The only constant is change.
