There are 4 retriever clubs in Oklahoma that I am aware of:
Tulsa Retriever Club - AKC
Sooner Retriever Club - AKC Greater OKC metro area

Three Rivers HRC - northeast Ok
Texoma HRC - Lawton/Ardmore area.

I'm a member of the Three Rivers club and know several members of the Tulsa RC. Pm if you'd like some more info. I saw your other thread for asking about dead ducks and that you have a young pup. Joining a club(s) is a smart move.

My dad is a member of the Three Rivers HRC as mentioned above as is a good family friend. My dad lives in Coweta and the other guy is in Ft. Gibson. The president of Three Rivers works at Forest Ridge in BA also. You might look into that HRC, I think it would connect you with many people around NE Oklahoma.

I have been to a training day with Three Rivers. They are some good folks. I can drive over to their training days around Catoosa, but lately they have training at the Retriever Academy in Miami, and that was just too far for me, so I missed several months. I would like to get a club started in the Stillwater area.

I have also trained with the Sooner Retriever Club, and I love heading down toward Meeker to Bill's place. Lots of good folks over there as well.

Three Rivers will be in Miami again next weekend. Only time I have gone to watch was when they were in Vinita.

It is a shame. It will be over 2.5 hrs for me to get there from my house. I can't do that to get a few series in with the pup. Luckily I have plenty of places to train over here.

For anyone who hasn't been to Derrick's place it is worth the drive. It is one of the finest facilities in the country. Might be a bit overkill of a guy who is just looking to keep his hunting buddy in shape, but still impressive

To say the least, went out there this summer to watch my dad/brothers dog get his started title. That property is amazing.

My last statement was incorrect, I was thinking of the Vinita property. Just talked to my dad about Derricks land though and it sounds very impressive.

I've heard it was really nice, and I would still like to get my pup in the game and get a few events run, but that is just a little too far for me. I would very much like to get a Stillwater chapter together. I have several guys interested and a few properties at my disposal, but I am waiting to hear back from the Region 9A rep.
