Carlson close range patterns good for inside 30 yards. It patterns better than their mid range choke. I shoot number 2 3" and number 1 3 1/2" in Kent.

Honestly try out the factory MOD choke with Drylok (silver box) that was a great combo for me before I got my Patternmaster code black for my Maxus.

the code black handles kent, drylok, and Hevi-metal with great patterns from them all. but I still really like drylok the best.

but the Carlson's extended mod, does good with Hevi-metal.

Patternmaster Code Black Upland works for me for geese inside 35 yards.

For the upto 40 yard shot I would highly suggest Hevi crap Mid Range Choke Tube. It has patterned great for me out of my Berettas regardless of the shell. Add in some 3" #3 Hevi Metal and you my friend had a DEADLY combination!
