Upland opener

Postby Wild Bob » Wed Aug 28, 2013 10:22 am

Anyone on here besides me going to be out there chasing birds? I'll try chasing some sharptails in the AM with one of my Brits. (Not sure how it'll go, as this is my dogs first hunting season and they are just shy of a one year - we have been working, but they seem to be maturing a little later... somethings they do great one day, and the next; I can't believe that I'm working the same dog as the day before!) So they are still young and learning...(to continued :lol3: )

Then in the afternoon my boys and I will go dove hunting, which is one of my favorite early season activities. Good luck to anyone else heading out this Sunday!

Ahhh, prob not. seems like a lot of work for a chicken. Im more of a lazy type "let them come to me" hunter. Im sure I'll shoot a few while waiting for an elk to stumble into me.

I'd like to be chasing ruffs, but instead I'll be watching our 5 month old twins while my wife is on call for work. Might be able to hunt on monday.

Went out on my first real Dove hunt.
The BLM land I went to still had its wheat standing, so I hunted a small pond that the birds use for water.

It is too hot when the day starts off at 70 degrees at sunrise to work dogs. I decided to go see the firearms collection at Cody, Wy. Fantastic, spent two days and could have spent a couple more. By Friday they say it will start cooling down, then watch out you chickens, etc.

Not as good as I should have...I'm rusty. Got five, but should have had double that.

Going to head back out later this week. Still too warm for me to go chasing elk or deer.

How about you?
