Picked up a $20 yardsale Mt bike for summer lake afternoon hunts. Been loading a few duck loads. Calendar is marked for 4-5 day summerlake trip. PS: I saw the first flock of specs headed south today

Nope. I plan on trying to get closer to the 6X6 or 5X5 bull I saw this past week. Hopefully close enough to stick with an arrow.
Didn't the doves show out your way again?
Tell Clyde he needs to start growing sunflowers behind his place and a small watering pond next to it. With in a couple years, I bet we'd have a dove spot for openers.

I go down in the last few days of October. Park my hunting TT at river camp most years. My intent is to fill my freezer with a couple limits of snow geese And a few Ducks. I have been doing it for most of the last 25yrs. I used to go a lot in December. But ODFW stole our best Canada time frame. Right before freeze up and all the ducks leave.

All my prep is done early this year. I bought a 12' minifish sailboat about a month ago, turned it into a sneak boat, and I just couldn't stop. Re-rigged some of the abused decoys from last year, picked up about 2 dozen new decoys, went out and patterned the shotguns, and have been brushing up on my calling in my truck on the way to work. Still need to scout a few new areas I would like to hunt this year. Good Luck to everyone, I have a feeling its going to be a good year.

The storm fronts were so late last year for pushing the northerns down------I have a feeling that it's gunna slam pretty good this year-----a lot of times after a long dry & warm summer we get a hard winter.
I've got a new spot this year, but needed a portable blind to hunt it. I picked up some 6 ft. bamboo & selected ones that have the first joint about 5 in. from the top & slit it down the middle till it stops at that joint----cheep & perfect for stickin in the ground & hangin camo net.
Good luck on the opener

About to put in an order for 7 or 8 dozen full body geese here. Haven't been dove or upland hunting here yet. Wouldn't mind going but I haven't found a spot near where I live yet.

Central Oregon is loaded with dove. More dove than I have ever seen, its mostly Eurasian dove, but I hear they eat the same.
