Corn isn't down so we had to get after them in the hay fields.
This is 19 out of the twenty we shot on opening day. We didn't get any pics of the five that we shot on Mon on another farm. The best part was I got to hunt with both my sons for the first time in a few years.
I keep hearing on how guys say you need to stay small with your spreads of resident geese. I disagree here is what I threw at them for the last week
It paid off. My reasoning was, they were in the field in large numbers but thinned out nearing the season. After they got driven off other fields they'd look for a place safe to feed
Heck I even picked up my first band of the year On this hunt it was just bigwater and me. Our first flock had sixteen in it we shot ten out of the sixteen
