I enjoyed always naming everyone in my wagon after my friends and then having a good laugh when they drowned, died of snake bites or were sick with typhoid.

Damn! I forgot all about Oregon Trail. That has to be the single most impossible game I have ever played. Great game! I spent many of hours trying to make it all the way across and I don't thinking ever did. Dang wagon never held up.

I loved playing Super Tecmo Bowl. Best play of all time involved dropping back in the pocket as far as possible and chunking the ball 100 yards to Mark Ingram in the endzone. Never failed.

Wolfenstein was revolutionary in the video game world. Another great.

original nintendo games, no specific order of greatness:

mike tyson's punch out
metroid
top gun
pro wrestling
castlevania
contra
legend of zelda
duck hunt, of course. i would always shoot at the dog when he laughed after a bad shot (ah how some things never change)
and yeah excite bike deserves a nod, too

I had totally forgotten about Pitfall and Qbert, I liked Oregon Trail too. Although they were newer, I played the chit out of the original Deer Hunter and Sim Farm pc games too.

I missed your post before I asked my question about te Konami code. Funny the things that remain stuck in your brain after so many years pass.

We had a 4 bedroom suite in college, so there was always a 4 player match of goldeneye, duke nukem, mario kart, or mario golf going on. We played so often we wore the plastic guts down in the controllers around the joysticks.
