A limit to end the year? Is there anything better? Nice pic.

Thanks! Half limit actually, there two of us lol. But still 3 birds in MN ain't nothing to complain about hunting all public land.

Time to wake this back up. This morning from the emerald isle...while all of you were sleeping.

Motion decoys...the foamers were replaced with real birds in short order.

Might not be able to see anything but here's the spread.

And two of the 50 or so wood pigeons we shot for a local farmer.

I'll never get sick of decoying pigeons.

Whoops, pics loaded backwards.

THIS IS A PICTURE IS OF THE OLD MAN'S LATEST LOVE, "GRACIE". IT WAS TAKEN IN LATE 2012. AT THE TIME SHE WAS ABOUT 8 MONTHS OLD. GRACIE IS A NOVA SCOTIA DUCK TOLLING RETRIEVER. SHE WEIGHS ABOUT THIRTY POUNDS. FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE A DOG IN NEED OF A GOOD ROUGH AND TUMBLE, LET ME KNOW. SIZE DOES NOT MATTER. THE OLD MAN

I realize 8 months is young, but does she actually toll for birds for you?

LITTLE GRACIE DOES TOLL FOR DUCKS. WE LET HER RUN UP AND DOWN THE SHORE LINE WHEN WE HUNT A SLOUGH CLOSE TO STU'S HOME. SHE LOOKS LIKE A RED FOX, SHE LOVES TO WADE IN THE WEEDS, CLOSE TO SHORE. GRACIE IS IDEAL FOR HUNTING OUT OF A BOAT. SHE WILL JUMP OFF THE BOW WHEN TOLD. I BOUGHT A AVERY VEST WITH HAND GRIPS IN THE BACK. LIFTING A THIRTY POUND DOG WITH THIS VEST WORKS GOOD FOR THIS OLD MAN. SHE SEEMS TO HAVE A GOOD NOSE, COLD WATER HAS NOT BEEN A PROBLEM. SHE IS HIGHLY MOTIVATED AND WANTS TO RETRIEVE. LAST FALL GRACIE MADE A HAND FULL OF 50 YARD OR BETTER RETRIEVES. GRACIE SPENT SEVERAL WEEKS AT HOLZINGERS KENNELS LAST YEAR. IT WAS WELL WORTH THE MONEY SPENT. FOR THOSE OF YOU CONSIDERING A TOLLER I SUGGEST YOU CALL TERRY HOLZINGER AND ASK HIM WHAT HE THINKS OF TOLLERS. ASK ABOUT GRACIE. TERRY IS AS GOOD A HUNTING DOG TRAINER AS YOU ARE GOING TO FIND IN MINNESOTA. I WOULD LOVE TO TALK TO OTHER TOLLER OWNERS, SEE YOUR DOGS. THE OLD MAN

Gracie is definitely a good looking pup. I am very unfamiliar with Tollers. I will have to do a little research, however I still think a WPG is out front for my next besty... (assuming my 14yo and 7yo labs can handle another breed... :lol3: )

I look forward to hearing some more about Gracie, and seeing some more victory pics.

I bought one of those vests as well for my 50lb lab and you are right, it makes it a heck of a lot easier getting them into the boat
