To help the newbies with getting started and guns/gear

Postby ksfowler166 » Wed Sep 11, 2013 12:40 pm

I have noticed several threads on people wanting to get into waterfowl hunting. To most people waterfowling is an expensive hobby. I believe the reason for that is marketing hype by the manufacturers and the hunters themselves. This is about getting back to the basics when all it took to go hunting was a beat up pump, a hand full of shells, and determination. These links should help those new to the sport skip the marketing hype, save them money, and make them better waterfowlers.

Lots of good points, I have to add I kill more late season Black Ducks and ducks in general over 2 litre pop bottles spray painted flat black then even the best looking decoys on the market.

SGW.. a fine resource (you can find me there as well). And camo PJ's... a great read. I've read it before but it's still just as good as the first time. Good info and a great thread!
