chuckar hunting

ok since the water isnt here this year for waterfowl im thinking this year im going to do alot more quail and try some chuckar hunting. any good spots near reno/coldsprings area for them?

Get a map of the water tanks ndow has installed and hunt around there. Good places to start at least.

Areas depend if you have a dog or not...............and sitting at a water hole or gusler does not get birds.

You will find 75% more birds with a dog............even if you drop three out of a flush. They roll, kick and
run into cover and die on you.

Good CHUCKAR hunters wear-out a pair of boots in one season ..........Chasing their Dog !

With my two Shorthairs , I know , but when they went on point it was game-on !

Put the wind in your favor and success is just over the next hill , or , the next , maybe that one over there ?

Its chukar first of all. And chukar populations are directly correlated to water. Look at the counts. There might not be tons of water for ducks but the population isn't as down as chukar is..
