1 short of my limit and I spent an hour trying to find it. They are tough to see this time of year in the grass

Finished my early season with a limit of woodies. Actually had wood ducks cup up and decoy unlike I have ever seen. Fun hunt, now come on November.

Yeah, they do that.
And they also will come to dekes, despite
what you might read on the internet. Certainly
not like teal, but sometimes. And it only takes
a few in mini season.

I have read and heard they sometimes decoy, just never had it happen. It could have been they were pitching into that spot regardless, and the decoys happened to be there. either way, it was cool to watch and a fun shoot

Post up how you do.
I got a woodie this AM. Then the weather got pretty
bad plus I had to go to work.
Also dropped my phone in the lake and for a while
thought I'd dropped my keys in too.
I'm ready for November. Doves will have to do
in the interim starting next month I guess.

Thanks!! I was suppose to come down for the fla opener but caught word the birds were running a little late. Seems like some of yal scratched a limit or two congrats to yal as well. The end of this year I pcs to South Carolina. Ill be only 4 hours from my home town (Merritt island). Which means I should make it home more often to hunt.

In the military I have had the chance to hunt a few different states. Nc, being the main one. They all have their pros but to me, I would much rather hunt Florida. The only con I have is I can't work my dog as much down there. Being in sc, I would like to find some people in jacksonville area to hunt with. Anybody? I have alot of decoys
