Redhead X Scaup Hybrid

Postby AAR » Sat Sep 21, 2013 11:51 am

A very cool one I got to do recently, Redhead X Scaup hybrid. This was a wild shot bird, taken just north of here. Just goes to show you never know what may fly in on any given hunt

He's not the most colorful but not a lot of them that turn up around the country compared to other mallard crosses. You see a lot of pen raised stuff that is cool from a novelty standpoint but there is just something about wild shot ones like this one that is so cool.

Best thing I could suggest is do a google image search of this particular hybrid, their parents aren't too horribly far off each other in appearance so not as drastic as many of the puddler hybrids.
