Headed your way! Feb 2014

Postby SemoDuck12 » Sat Sep 21, 2013 6:47 pm

Me and a buddy are headed to the Brazil, IN for the last 4 days of late goose season in February this coming year.
We booked a guided hunt, but its only in the mornin time.

Gonna see if you guys were from around there?
What to expect?
Wanna meet up?
Just anything that would help out..

Thanks

An Indiana guided hunt? Sounds like a waste of money

You should ask what they define as morning time. In the late season being early to the field normally means between 9 or 10. Most the the geese I've hunted wouldn't start moving until noon.

I don't know if the snow gets down that far but like quack head said early morning is probably gonna be 8 9 10 somewhere in there and paying for an Indiana hunt I'm not sure what or who you got into but I'm interested in some details

Yeah, so I looked into the guy my buddy found. He was on craigslists. I asked him what he was thinking and he replied with it seemed legit. For 100$ idk how it was legit..He lost his privileges on picking out a hunt. You guys saved me.

Thank you.

Sorry to criticize the hunt. I mean if $100 isn't that big of a deal you could try it out. You also could have just as much luck driving around and knocking on doors.

I do not think that's a waste of money at all. northern indiana in late season is one of the best hunts in my opinion. If someone is going to have enough confidence to put out guided hunts that time of year I would trust them. I plan on doing the same thing, with the number of birds around and putting the time in it would be nothing to put guys on birds. plus with the bag limit at 5 you get more birds for your money Illinois nor Ohio have late seasons and their bag limits stay at 3. Hunting indiana sounds like the smartest hunt you could go on. Pm me if you want to come up to the Fort Wayne area and hunt with me, we will put 5 man limits down.

I guess it's all perspective, but I don't consider Brazil "northern" indiana...

Yeah i would agree with that. It could be completely different from what I've experienced in the late season.

I'm from missouri originally closer to kansas city in warrensburg just moved to southern indiana this summer. If I were you guys I wouldn't come to indiana and pay for a hunt. Put that money towards snow decoys for hunting the conservation order in SEMO. I'm gonna miss the snow goose hunts I had in west/northwest MO not much of snow migration here unfortunetly. Semoduck12 if you wanna do a indiana hunt let me know. I doubt I will be doing any late canadian hunts as none of the counties that have it are close to me. But if you wanna do a hunt later during the regular season let me know. I would love to be able to find some places/people in SEMO/southern illinois for late late snow goose season so that I don't have to drive 8-9 hours back to western/northwestern MO where all the places I could snow hunt are.
Red neck engineering- If ya can't fix it with duck tape, bailing wire, zip ties, and JB weld well than it can't be fixed.

If it moves and it aint suppose to duck tape it. If doesn't move and its suppose to put WD-40 on it.
