Favorite Guts

Postby sandahl » Thu Sep 26, 2013 9:54 pm

I've noticed lately that pretty much every manufacturer offers their guts for sale separately from just coming in a call. I was just curious what GUTS, not call, are everyones favorites. I'm looking at maybe monkeying around with some different guts and I was looking for some opinions. Thanks.

Honestly, if I had to go with 1 gut...I would go with the Zink BIGs. They run well in just about every call out there and have a good mellow tone, good crack, and insanely easy trick notes (Trains, Flying Spit notes, etc.)

Some of my other favorites are Flyway X guts that are broke in (good luck finding these) and Redemption BORBs

Quinn at Redemption also has some new guts coming out that should be sweet from what he has told me

I've tried a lot of different guts, but always come back to my GK OTEs.

Wades SR02s are my favorite gut. They mimmic a Saunders Red, but in a much softer material. They only took a few days to break in blowing a comp routine every day. Very goosey and work in just about every call I have tried.

I did some monkeying around with different guts and I have to say that my favorites are the Lynch Mob Bloods. Super smooth and gets really low. I also like how little of a groove they have so I can continue to break them in. They also have the little relief dimple put in the front of the tone board and I think that helps a lot.

Can the "Bloods" be ordered direct from LMC? How much do they run?

You have to call the shop to order, they aren't on the website, and they are $20 for the guts.
