kara layout??

Postby scool86 » Sun Sep 29, 2013 8:36 pm

I've seen old post of the kara and how ppl have purchased the plans and such. I haven't had any luck finding these plans. Does anyone have a set of these plans?

Also would a 6.5hp mud buddy be to heavy for the homemade kara?

you could make the 6.5hp work if you build the full 14ft kara (I modded mine for 12ft) and make a sturdy transom.

but honestly, knowing what I know now I'd just buy nice manufactured fiberglass boat from the start. they're lighter weight and more durable. But I really enjoyed taking on the project and seeing my finished product. I was able to fit 3 guys (aprox500lbs), a battery, and tolling motor in my 12ft Kara and it still floated just fine.
