AB - I'll buy this one, then let you have it for only $100. That's half the price of your call.

very nice. ive heard they were pretty good lil calls as well, just was wondering why you thought or would say that they were discontinued is all.

i heard that, i actually kinda figured it might would be drake, or deke, but echo is pretty cool too i suppose.

Don't know about the "fool" part, but the Timber Hunter (poly insert with wood barrel) or it's all poly Quackhead version does make a great call to transition to single reeds on "easy peasy". Ducky, too, just won't get very loud.

The thing is...double reed users tend to be blowhards. The timber will "teach" you to finesse a call.
Guys who complain about calls sticking...need to start with a cheap single reed when they transition from two reed calls.

It seemed like you had thought of a logical reason for that statement. I was just curious as to what it was. I'm sorry if that caught you off guard.

"Way back when..." the Shortbarrel was still the hot new ticket and RNT only made doubles on request, Jim or Rusty told me the recently acquired Timbre (which their Timber Hunter copies) was the RNT double reed users had the easiest time getting underway with at the shows they did. I've long thought its little 1/4" bore the likely reason, but if "double reed users tend to be blowhards" that blows that theory out of the water. Double reed users would then pick 'em up, lock 'em up and move on.

I used two reed calls for 25 years. I can make nearly any call stick.
Two reeds made me "huff" on calls.
THIS CALL IS WHY.
Try and make one of these stick.

TRY.

I could easily see the 1/4 bore suiting the fans of soft blowing doubled. The idea that a cheap single was the fix for a sticking call is lost on me. Was hoping Betty could help me see the light.
