What is it with the sport hunting purists?

Postby gatorsnagger » Mon Oct 07, 2013 8:08 am

Only shoot ducks that are trying to land on the end of your barrel, only shoot whitetail with minimum 18" inside spreads, never shoot elk ranged farther than 150 yards, never hunt upland birds with anything other than a double barrel, your dog must be under control 100% of the time, bring 10 shells with you waterfowl hunting, bring 3 shells with you big game hunting.

Am I the only one who sees how insane this gets? Whatever happened to putting a little meat on the table while having a good time?

Doing it the other way just got too easy.

I don't really get too worked up about it. I am more just a curmudgeon than anything. Hahaha.

...and yes I will shoot your radio-collared research bear if he comes to my bait.

So your one of them guys HUH ? Don't you realize the importance of the research those bears provide ? Its guys like you that mess up hunting for all of us. 3 shells for big game is more than enough in fact should be enough for 2 guys with one for sighting in. Also 10 shells are plenty for ducks with a few left if you see any geese. You must be new here so I`ll be nice and wont tell you to GTFO yet but I will be watching you.

Do you also feel the same about guys who won't pick up fat chicks at the bar? We all want to put "meat" on the table, but we don't want to break it......

No matter how far you take it, with regards to "sportsmanship" in hunting, there will always be people that think it should be taken a step further....

Oh you bird hunt with a semi-auto shotgun??? real sportsmen only use Over/Unders....

Oh you deer hunt with a fancy rifle??? real sportsmen use a bow....

Oh you use a fancy compound bow??? real sportsmen use a primitive recurve....

Oh you hunt hogs with a bow??? real sportsmen spear hunt them....

see where I'm going with this? as long as you stay within the law, who gives a sh!t what the other folks think....
