cabelas wader prices

Postby asmythe32 » Tue Oct 08, 2013 7:13 pm

I have been looking at waders for the past 3 weeks. I got the waterfol catalog in the mail today and its full of great stuff. To my surprise when I get on their website tonight the supermag waders have gone up $20 since last weekend. 249.99 and they were 229.99? My question to you all is this. If I take that catalog with the old price into the store with me this weekend do you think they will honor it? I really hope so or I am gonna be looking for a different brand.

I noticed it too. They will. They have been getting sneaky with their "online pricing only" on their product pages. It's always a toss up. Either the store is cheaper or online is. Pricing isn't matching up like it use to be. Not sure the motivation behind it. It's similiar with their Big Foot pricing. $180 for a four pack?!?!? And every single seller uses Cabelas' pricing to judge how much to charge for used decoys. Pisses me off! I will say it again and again to educate. A dozen can be bought on the Internet shipped for $330-$340 a dozen brand new.

Also, FYI, I tried to exchange waders over the weekend at Cabelas. They are prorating the refund amount to put towards new waders. They were giving me $160 for my Super Mags to put towards a new pair at $230. Then, I have to pay the difference.

You're going to skip buying a good set of waders that you know will last, over $20?

Well one reason they may be going up in price is (lack of) supply and demand. Yesterday I tried to order at least 4 different chest wader versions from Cabela's (to replace a pair of Dry-Plus which I love for the comfort and breathability but are leaking in the crotch after season only two seasons) and all of them were in back order status for at least a couple weeks (won't help for North zone opening day)! So much for blowing some of those $300 worth of points I saved up all summer. Had no choice but to pick a neoprene pair from BPS.

Which one did you go to? I was in hammond today and took the catalog with me and they honored the price in it. She said it was no problem.

I was in a cabelas picking up a call from the customer service desk. A fellow came in to return a hatchet. He found it at a farm and fleet for $15 cheaper. They matched the farm and fleet price, gave him back 15 bucks.

If I were you, on my next trip there, I'd make a deal about it.

I understand that completely (with 3 of my own and another on the way). Knowing how my 1600 supermags have held up, Id rather pay $20 extra for another pair though, then to try something new and regret it. Im definately for the price match though.

Hammond. They hate me there. Long story but I'm pretty sure the CS counter knows my face.

took the ad with me and they matched the price for me, I just wish I would have had the coupon then but oh well. I did go with the supermags too. I tried on the one strap waders that are new this year and I did not like them. I get the idea of having your shooting shoulder free of straps and all that but you are gonna have a coat on anyway. There are breathable gussets on the side too that I did not like.

I ordered the LightMags last night with the coupon. To bad I couldn't get it to you, but I found a reason to use it. The 5mm and 1600 make me sweat beyond belief. I will use both sets depending on temps.

Black Friday the Super Mags are scheduled to be $169.99. Sucks. Also, a pair of 3mm for $99.

Check rogers sporting goods. I bought a pair of 1,600 5mm for 129 on my doorstep in three days.

cabelas wader prices

Postby KillerKowalski » Tue Nov 19, 2013 5:54 am

I ordered and returned Rogers's Toughmans. Material was nice, but cut was horrible. Legs and crotch suffocated me and the waist and chest cut were extremely baggy. Plus, the height of them under the arm pits were low. The nicest thing was the inside fleece lined hand pockets. I have had my SuperMags since 2004 and still going strong.

I agree the Rogers waders have a strange fit to them. The legs seem to be extra long and the sides are cut too low. The construction seems to be solid though and the price is certainly better than Cabela's. Guess in a few weeks I will find out how well they work.
