Used Terror Chokes

Postby 10gaOkie » Fri Oct 11, 2013 4:59 pm

Have you ever noticed that used Terror chokes are as scarce as hens teeth? If any thing else, this tells me that their owners dont normally get rid of them. Which tells me they must be one heck of a great choke. Saying nothing of my experience with using them. Its a shame they are not going to be around anymore.

I'd say they are as scarce in MN as a Christian Ponder completed pass....

I see most other brand chokes for sale all the time. I have also bought some of my Terrors used but they were a hard find.
Now that production of the Terror has stopped, it just got harder.

I see patternmaster from time to time, but chokes aren't something that are sold as much as say duck calls.

Kev
There are tons of Carlson chokes listed on gunbroker and ebay. Hadn't you rather have a Briley?

You don't see chokes for sale because I'd recon to say at least 90% of waterfowlers, if not more, do not pattern their gun. They buy a patternmaster and leave it in for everything. They don't switch between chokes/loads to find a good combo, so they have no chokes to sell.

then maybey thats why they cant hit anything and blame the shells-you could put a herd of elephant through a typical patternmaster "pattern" ,never mind hit a bulls arse with a shovel at 40man strides with the poxy things.

ive a "as new "10ga pattermaster for an sp10 ,won it in a raffle, any sensible offer considered.

chris
yes,id take a briley, but i get great results with my 12ga carlson .700 full ,thought id try one for my sp10 if one came up,thats all.

I have two .700 Carlson chokes for Mobil choked Benelli. They dont do any better for me than the factory chokes. I wonder why you are having such good results?

Last time I checked (about a year ago) Carlson does NOT make choke tubes for the 10 gauge.
