Simply...I am a call maker. In today's market most call makers flame polish clear and transparent acrylic. However we polish and buff solids and pearls as they don't flame polish well due to the dyes. With that, alcohol will craze (small cracks through the acrylic) any call that has been flame polished. Now can you use alcohol on solids and pearls...I am in the school of telling people to simply not use any alcohol on acrylics to 100% guarantee that your call does not become damaged. Warm water and soap will clean any acrylic call 100% and will not damage the acrylic. Dont take the chance of ruining your call...Hope this helps to clarify some miss conceptions
