Started to thaw today and should finish tomorrow. I expect to see birds return to those that have been holding holes open.

Byers, can you post some picks up from hunts this year. I am having to love vicariously through DHC. I have had two of the best hunts of my life this year and my first band but have only got to hunt a handful of times.

Teal must really piss y'all off! Lol. Nice. Hunted with a group some years back and we were covered up with big groups of teal. Couple guys said I ain't shooting no teal. Well sit back and watch cause I love the little mothers! If that's what you got have fun.

They're still living large on our lake.

On a non waterfowl related update, it appears our quail project is working. We just flushed our first covey of quail.

Good on you!!
Man, I remember having a good population of quail out where I live when I was young. Made quite a few good quail and woodcock hunts. I can't tell you the last time I heard a bobwhite call out there. I used to sit out there in the evenings listening to them call and gather back up for the night. It would be nice to see and hear that again.

Just a tease of what's in this years video. At one point I thought we were going to get them all to land. In the end captain America got his first speck. Actually it was all his first. He had never been duck hunting before. A new benelli later and he's hooked.
