This is what happens when you leave decoys out for a year.

Got access to a pond this year that had some decoys sitting on it. Owner said that the person who hunted last season just left them out all year and didn't bother to pick up all of them. If you've ever wanted to know how different brands hold up, well...[IMG]http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/10/21/ytadehym.jpg[/IMGhene top two are Carrylite drake mallard s bottom one is a Redhead hen mallard. The Carrylites held up pretty good despite the sun baking it down to the bare plastic. The Redhead is absolutely trashed. Plastic is brittle and cracked all over. Still gonna try to rehab them tho.

Clean em' off and they should be just about right and your rig will look different than all the new out of box shiny decoys you will see on opening day.

nasty.... my theory on leaving your decoys out all year; its the shoe on the other foot look at things: if you were to go into your house and see plastic people sitting in different locations around your house, some eating, some sleeping, some just hanging out; wouldent that weird you out?

Yeah...that would be a little creepy. Maybe that's why I hate malls.

I thought they looked fine before....

Spray painted black base coat first, then brushed on acrylics. I mixed my own colors, wasn't too bad. Finished with two coats of clear coat.

where are you? we've left out a few decoys at our private lake for almost a full year for 6 years in a row... they all still look much better than those. some of the same carry lites too, others were G&H's and flabeau geese

Central OK. I'm not sure if the guy who owned them left them out for the whole season for multiple seasons in a row, but they definitely didn't hold up well to whatever he did.
