Computer Tranny Quest

'13 GMC Sierra...

I find the tranny very awkward especially in stop and go traffic or worst yet, if you are on a road with a stretch of stop signs.
If I get to the sign and no that no one is there and attempt to slow&go...the truck will "buck" like a manual because the tranny hasn't wound all the way down and the acceleration slams the gear in on the way up...
Similarly, if you abruptly stop, you will hear and feel the tranny "clunk, clunk, clunk" down....God forbid you jump back on the gas at that point.
BUT-
If you actually STOP at the sign and hear the idle drop to low, then accelerate, it will be a smooth acceleration...

The funny thing is that I have a Chrysler T&C minivan that has the same behavior but on the acceleration side, not so much the brake side..
I got a recall for the Chysler to have the computer tweaked...

Any thoughts on the Sierra?

Get a Black Bear performance tune. They can change shift points, firmness, and delete or lessen the torque management of the trans. That will really help you out with the feel, not to mention you'll gain a few MPG, more HP, and it will drive the way you want it to and for what you use it for. Its around $500 I believe.
