My boy's first buck. It's a beauty!

Postby coach_1 » Wed Oct 23, 2013 3:36 pm

Took my son out for youth rifle weekend at a buddies land. He shot this Sat. evening. Shot from 100 yards took out both lungs. It was all we could do to get it in the truck. Needless to say he's very excited and can't wait to get it back from the taxidermy. I think I'm more excited than he is. What a great first deer! Field dressed at 197 lbs. 11 pt and scored a 156.

What a decision to make. It is muzzle loading season during the heart of rut or opening day of duck season. I'm truly torn.

The tough part of killing that monster as your first is that it will be hard to beat!!!
