first banded goose!

well got my first banded goose saturday and was all sorts a pumped. got home and started to look it up and see where
it came from and all that fun stuff. got the info all filled out getting real excited and pushed finish and it said
we are having trouble finding the info on your band. they said that the bander never sent in the info to them
on this band so they would contact the bander and get back to me... i was bumbed something fierce!!
has this ever happened to anyone else?? hope i find out soon tho. still was an awesome experience and a
great hunt with some good friends...

Its actually very common. I have had a good few over the years like that, in fact you just reminded me I still need to check on a couple I shot well the gooberment shut down was going. They will try to contact the bander for the info and as soon as they get it from him they will send you an email.

What are the first 4 digits? I should be able to get you close on the age of the band at least though.

Ha ha that's funny, same thing happened on the band I got as well. I wonder about the other two. Did he call those in yet? I'm curious on that black band. Man I'm still pumped!!!

The black bands are new this year. I am guessing it was a family group and would guess they were banded on BRBR. Very cool guys :beer:

I think any more its almost harder to kill a goose with out a band .I know two guys that got 8 of the double ones with black band and 6 r 7 standard bands in the first week and a half.

Thats awesome cool to hear people are getting into them i have yet to kill a bird with a band lol sad i know i know kids that hunted for the first time on the youth and shot bands. both ducks and geese. awesome job you guys

wasn't goose season closed last sat.?? :huh: I thought the split starts again nov.2nd

Very true Factor I am glad i've been able to shoot geese and ducks its not that big of a deal to me on the bands. I would rather have shot a limit of geese and ducks over shooting 1 goose with a band or a 1 duck with a band. but you always gotta look right?
