most people use arrows..................I love that one.

Back east some shots are taken at only 20 yards, due to all the trees and cover.


I live in Nevada, a desert state..................

Whats a tree ??

I would be perfectly fine taking a 500 meter shot with a .308 even with Iron sights. I used to hit 500m targets all the time with a very well used M-16 in the Marines.

The only thing I wouldn't do is shoot in the mountains because I the judgement of trajectory is affected.

Point is gain some confidence from a good coach and LOTS of boxes of ammo and go put some meat in the freezer. How is the shooting going?

as a gunner in the Navy I got to shoot the M-1,M-14,BAR, 30 air,
M-60 at the 500 yard targets.

Never got a chance to shoot the 50 cal sniper or the 106 recoiless
......just got to clen them......bummer.

However shoting the rear 5" on the back of the DE "White Russian" on manual control ,off the Catalina islands, made up for it.

Yep, iron sights , at six miles!!
