i shot a mess of buffleheads yesterday morning in saltmarsh i was wondering if they are worth eating i already cleaned them and im going to try them and was wondering if any body else has ate them

jjohnson_714- Your buffs must be different from mine. LOL The ones down here are not tasty at all. Those kind of divers are best served up as pepper sticks. IMO

divers are best made into jerky. ive heard that soaking and boiling them in milk helps. then bread them and fry em up or whatever way you wanna try it.

soak them and some bacon in hot sauce for about 20 minutes. Wrap them in the bacon and grill. I think they are one of my favorite ducks.

We call them butter ducks, they taste great, very mild for a diver, especially compared to whistlers. Roasted with a salt/pepper/allspice rub with a honey glaze is perfect. Use 50/50 honey and worchchester sauce, glaze every 10-12 minutes for about 1 1/4 hrs.
