Southern Cali Advice

Out of stater - proceed carefully! :)

Well it sounds like I will be headed to your neck of the woods for the Chargers game on 12/29. I have family in Monte Nido and will likely spend several days visiting. Our season will be long closed by then, so I'm trying to figure out if it is worth bringing some gear out to try to find some birds. I always kind of assumed the southern part of the state was mostly hunt clubs and wayy out of my price range but I'm throwing some feelers out just in case I can make it work. I'm not opposed to hiring a guide if there are any in the area - but I haven't had much luck with google. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Or if this is no-man's land - send me a recommendation for fishing guides - fly or sport? I'm not really interested in the big charters but would love to do something that I can't find in Iowa.

Thank you for any advice you can provide - I apologize for the cold call. Best of luck this season!

You would have a shorter drive to Mexico to find birds then if you wanted to make a drive to find birds in SoCal. Bring your shorts and do some fishing.
