Scouting timber (before the water and while it's leafy)

Postby sigpi906 » Thu Oct 31, 2013 2:01 pm

We're putting in our time early at Bayou Meto this year. There's no water yet and leaves on all the trees still. I'm finding and marking good holes I come across.

However, other than just one holes in the canopy, I was wondering if there is anything else you guys look for when you scout the timber? Anything I need to be liking for, good or bad, other than holes in the canopy.
I was told people wouldn't take me seriously without a signature.
